Vehicle finance for the Fraser Coast

Whether it's a family car, a work ute, or a truck for the business, vehicle finance is a separate product to a home loan — but it's a natural extension of what we already do, and many of the lenders we work with for home loans offer competitive vehicle and equipment finance too.

Personal vehicle finance

A standard car loan for a new or used vehicle, structured around your budget and the vehicle's age. We compare options across our panel rather than pointing you toward a single lender's product.

Truck & business vehicle finance

Tradies, contractors and small business owners across Hervey Bay and Maryborough often need to finance a ute, van or truck for the business. This is commonly structured as a chattel mortgage or other asset finance product, which can bring GST and depreciation benefits depending on your business structure — worth a conversation with your accountant alongside the finance itself. If you're self-employed or run a small business more broadly, our self-employed loans pageand FIFO & contractor loans pagecover how we assess business and contract income more generally.

What suits you: loan, chattel mortgage or lease?

  • Standard car loan — straightforward, for personal use vehicles
  • Chattel mortgage — common for business and sole trader vehicle and truck purchases
  • Novated lease — arranged through your employer via salary packaging

Vehicle & truck finance questions

Do you only arrange home loans, or vehicle finance too?

Both. Vehicle and truck finance is a separate product to a home loan, but many of the same lenders on our panel offer it, so it's a natural extension of what we already do for Fraser Coast clients.

What's the difference between a car loan, a chattel mortgage and novated leasing?

A standard car loan works like a personal loan secured against the vehicle. A chattel mortgage is generally used by businesses and sole traders, where the business owns the vehicle from day one and may claim GST and depreciation benefits. A novated lease is arranged through your employer and paid via salary packaging. Which suits you depends on whether the vehicle is for personal or business use, and your tax position — we'll talk through which fits.

Can I finance a truck for my business?

Yes — truck and equipment finance for tradies, contractors and small business owners is a common request, and often structured as a chattel mortgage or asset finance product rather than a standard car loan.

Do I need a large deposit?

It varies by lender and the age/type of vehicle, but many vehicle finance products are available with little or no deposit for well-qualified applicants. We'll give you a realistic picture based on your situation.
